Beige Shelter seeks to promote betterment of mental health, self-acceptance, resilience, love, and championing the fights for human rights through their music.
Long Biography
What is that which separate humans from machines?
Feelings and emotions!
Being human is like drawing paint from a palette of colours used to express joy, love, hope, anger, sadness, apathy, grief and more. Colours across the spectrum ranging from white, blue, red, green, and yellow symbolize these emotions. These converge to the mother colour beige, which represents the complex combination of emotions that make us humans and individuals.
Music has always been a shelter for bandmates Neel Modi, Tom Kuczynski, Ben Barzegar and Adi Aman as they evoke all these colours through a variety of songs ranging from delicate melodies to raw intensity.
Beige Shelter is a collaborative band, creating songs that begin with individual expressions on trials, tribulations, and glories of life, but come together in the band in a unified singular expression. The band’s songs often seek to promote the betterment of mental health, self-acceptance, resilience, love, and championing human rights.
Their debut album “Rumours We Make, Paths We Take” was released in 2016 on all digital streaming music services. The band’s album release concert played to a crowd of over 200 people at the Opera House in Toronto, which also raised $1,000 CDN for the Canadian Mental Health Association. That same year, Beige Shelter released the mental health positive single Light Your Way, which continues to be a highlight of the band’s live shows.
The band was nominated for Best New Artist at the Mississauga Music Awards in 2018.
Beige Shelter has regrouped following the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to perform in clubs and festivals in Toronto, Mississauga, and beyond.
